Workpackage 1: Data collection
WP1 focuses on developing and implementing effective monitoring strategies for riverine ecosystem health
and GHG emissions in the Mekong. Specifically, four sampling campaigns will be conducted in the first year
of the project that covers four major provinces in the Mekong, Ben Tre, Bac Lieu, Kien Giang and Ca Mau.

Preliminary visit
Purposes
- Visit the 36 potential shrimp farms including 12 (super)intensive farms, 12 rice-shrimp farms, and 12 mangrove-shrimp farms
- Introduce the project to the local stakeholders, including local authorities, related companies, shrimp farmers and involved researchers
- Visit the local lab and PhD candidate
- Implement the kick-off meeting with local partner
